7 goal involvements in 9 games: Super Eagles winger Simon continues his fine form for Nantes
Published: October 22, 2023Super Eagles winger Moses Simon certainly has had a fine start to the 2023-2024 season at Nantes.
Simon broke his record for most goal contributions in his first 9 games of any season in the Ligue 1 by bagging an assist in Nantes' 2-0 win over Montpellier.
Simon bagged his assist in the 74th minute when he teed up Kader Bamba to score Nantes' second goal of the game and secure their triumph over the 2011/2012 French champions.
The 28-year-old has now mustered seven goal involvements in this campaign with 2 goals and five assists, the most he has recorded after 9 matchdays in the Ligue 1 since making his debut in 2019.
The left winger has been in scintillating form for Nantes since the start of the campaign and was included in Whoscored.com Team of the Month for September alongside fellow Nigeria international Terem Moffi.
Simon is in the final months of his contract with the Canaries and there were talks of him leaving the club in the summer but it remains to be seen whether his blistering start to the campaign will earn him a new contract.
