Former Ajax Amsterdam and Arsenal winger Ideho scores first senior goal for ADO Den Haag
Published: October 28, 20232023 Flying Eagles invitee Joel Ideho netted his first senior goal as ADO Den Haag and VVV Venlo shared the spoils with a 2-2 draw in an Eerste Divisie clash at the Bingoal Stadion on Friday evening.
Ideho ended a three-year association with Premier League club Arsenal at the end of the 2022-2023 season and made a return to Dutch football in August 2023 by signing for ADO Den Haag on a two-year deal.
The former Ajax Amsterdam winger had played seven games in the Dutch second tier for ADO Den Haag without finding the back of the net prior to the visit of VVV Venlo.
With seventeen minutes left on the clock, Ideho gave ADO Den Haag the lead for the first time in the game when he managed to get on the end of a low cross from Daryl van Mieghem, took a touch and slotted into the bottom corner.
Ideho was on the pitch for 261 minutes in total spread across eight matches before scoring his first professional goal.
After twelve games in the division, ADO Den Haag are sitting third in the standings with 23 points accumulated from 12 games ahead of their next match against PSV Eindhoven on Monday, November 6.
Ideho trained with Nigeria's U20 national team before the 2023 Africa U20 Cup of Nations and Fifa U20 World Cup.
The 20-year-old scored some spectacular goals for the development squad during his time at Arsenal.
