Super Eagles striker Dessers nominated for Rangers Goal of the Month award for October
Published: November 03, 2023Nigeria national teamer Cyriel Dessers has been nominated for Glasgow Rangers Goal of the Month award for October 2023.
The Light Blues have selected the top four goals netted by the first team players with Dessers among the contenders for the monthly accolade for his strike in a 4-0 rout of Hibernian at the Ibrox Stadium.
Two minutes before subbing out, the Super Eagles star wrapped up the scoring when he stroked a neat finish into the bottom corner from 12 yards out after a brilliant pass from Todd Cantwell.
The other contenders for Rangers' Goal of the Month are James Tavernier who scored in the 3-0 road win versus St. Mirren, Danilo and Abdallah Sima for their efforts against Hearts and Hibernian respectively.
Former Cremonese forward Dessers was signed by Rangers in exchange for five million euros and including performance related add-ons, the amount could increase to 6.5 million euros.
His Rangers career has not started as well as he would have hoped, having netted five goals from nineteen appearances in all competitions.
Of the twenty games played by Rangers this term, Dessers has gone the distance just once, against Aris Limassol on matchday two of the Europa League.
