Napoli provide injury update on Super Eagles striker Osimhen after draw against Union Berlin
Published: November 09, 2023
Through their official website, Italian champions Napoli have provided an injury update on Victor Osimhen, a day after they were held to a 1-1 draw by German Bundesliga outfit Union Berlin in the UEFA Champions League.
The Nigeria international, along with his agent Roberto Calenda, was spotted in the stands watching the matchday four fixture at the Diego Maradona Stadium on Wednesday, same day he returned to Naples to continue his rehabilitation.
The center forward was in Lagos for approximately two weeks, with the approval of Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, to resolve some personal issues.
Osimhen has not figured for Napoli since October 13 when he injured his right hamstring in an international friendly against Saudi Arabia in Portugal.
Napoli resumed training this morning at the SSCN Konami Training Center in preparation for their last game before the international break, against Empoli scheduled for Sunday, November 12.
Osimhen, according to Napoli's official website, carried out therapies and personalized work on the pitch on Thursday.
If his rehabilitation goes according to plan, he is expected to return to action after the international break, as from the trip to Atalanta on November 25.
Napoli have coped well without their talisman, having won three matches and drawn two.
