Atalanta striker Lookman named in Italian Serie A TOTW after two-goal display against AC Milan
Published: December 12, 2023Atalanta striker Ademola Lookman, has been named in Whoscored.com's Italian Serie A Team of the Week for gameweek fifteen.
The former Charlton Athletic man put two goals past Stefan Pioli's AC Milan in a game which Atalanta secured a narrow 3-2 win and picked up maximum points at home to end a four game winless run.
In a 3-4-3 formation, the 26-year old was paired alongside in-form Argentine marksman Lautaro Martinez, who got his name on the scoresheet for Inter Milan in their 4-0 hammering of Udinese Calcio at the San Siro.
Inter Milan midfield trio of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Hakan Çalhanoglu and Federico Dimarco are in the middle of the park alongside Juventus' Andrea Cambiaso.
Roma's Rui Patricio was the man picked between the sticks, with Atalanta's Giorgio Scalvini, Fiorentina's Lucas Martínez and Lazio's Alessio Romagnoli in a back three.
Lookman's brace at the Gewiss Stadium took his league tally to six goals across fifteen appearances for Atalanta so far this term but, he is yet to score or assist in five Europa League appearances this season.
Notwithstanding, the former Everton wideman looks well on track to have a stellar season with Atalanta and is expected to be available for selection internationally, as the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations draws near by the day.
