Inter Milan in the running with Arsenal for signing of Dutch-Nigerian striker
Published: January 15, 2024Serie A table toppers Inter Milan are said to be in the running with Arsenal for Dutch-Nigerian striker Joshua Zirkzee.
According to Interlive, the Bologna center-forward is in the sight of the Nerazzurri and they would love to bring him over to the club having caught the eye with his performances in the Serie this season.
With 7 goals scored so far, he is leading the Red and Blues' push to finish in a continental qualification spot at the end of the season.
The daunting task facing Inter Milan right now in signing the 22-year-old is his valuation which is said to be at least €60m which they deem expensive
While Zirkzee has a €40m release clause, that can only be triggered by Bayern Munich as inserted in his contract when he joined Bologna in the summer of 2022.
The Netherlands U21 international will need to move to a club where he can get game time and become a world-class, thus moving to Inter Milan might not suit him.
The Serie A giants have red-hot Lautaro Martínez and Marcus Thuram as the first-choice strikers in Simeone Inzaghi's 3-5-2 formation and will be difficult for Zirkzee to break into the team.
