'Pulisic has been lacking a bit in the big matches' - Serafini backs Chukwueze to thrive at AC Milan
Published: April 29, 2024Italian pundit Luca Serafini has backed Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze to excel at AC Milan after a slow start to life at the San Siro.
The 24-year-old joined the Italian giants with a high pedigree following his impressive form for Villarreal last season but has failed to hit the ground running.
He didn't score his first goal for the Rossoneri till November, scoring against Borussia Dortmund on matchday five of the UEFA Champions League but didn't net his first league goal till last month.
Since bagging his first goal in the Italian top-flight, the Nigeria international has been in fine form for the Italian giants, whether starting or coming off the bench and it is no surprise that he is now getting a lot of support.
Serafini has been one of those impressed with the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup winner and is now backing him to succeed with the seven-time European champions
"Chukwueze has a clear and splendid condition at the moment, he is always decisive. It's true that Pulisic has been lacking a bit in the big matches, from the point of view of his participation and Loftus-Cheek I would expect more in some moments," he told Milan TV via Milan News.
"Pioli relies on the faithful to draw a line on this moment. Chukwueze is a player of the future, when we said that certain players must be waited for it is true: he is proving to be worth the search. last year of the big clubs and the money that Milan spent ."
Despite his recent form, former Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic has been getting the nod from Stefano Pioli , with the Nigerian starting one of the last five games across all competitions.
With Pioli reportedly on his way out of the San Siro, Chukwueze will be hoping that he gets the trust of the new manager and be a key player for AC Milan next season.
