'A very physical and strong player' - 2020 Super Eagles invitee hails Udinese teammate Isaac Success
Published: May 07, 20242020 Super Eagles invitee Kingsley Ehizibue has hailed Udinese teammate Isaac Success after his goal in stoppage time rescued a point for the Bianconeri in a 1-1 draw against Napoli in a Serie A encounter at Bluenergy Stadium on Monday night.
Last season's top scorer Victor Osimhen opened the scoring in the 51st minute with a header that left Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye stranded.
Osimhen thought he had doubled the advantage with a devastating finish in the 80th minute but the goal was ruled out for offside following a VAR review, before the Super Eagles goalkeeper denied his compatriot from close range three minutes later.
Success scored a huge goal in the second minute of stoppage time as Udinese claimed an unlikely point.
The 2013 U17 AFCON top scorer with seven goals has found his game time limited since suffering an injury in the opening minutes of a 3-3 draw with Hellas Verona on December 3, 2023, failing to start 21 consecutive matches in the Italian top-flight.
Ehizibue has highlighted the qualities of Success, saying he brings physicality to the team and hopes he scores more goals in the season run-in.
The right back told Udinese's official website: "Isaac is a very physical and strong player, he is very important for us. I'm happy for him and I hope he does another one."
Fabio Cannavaro's men find themselves in relegation trouble as they sit in 18th place in the table, three matches to the end of the 2023-2024 season.
They face Lecce in their next game, followed by matches against Empoli and Frosinone.
