Emmanuel Ukeyima: Malaga interested in 16yo midfielder likened to Barcelona's Lamine Yamal
Published: May 11, 2024Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report with certainty that Spanish Primera Federación side Malaga CF hold concrete interest in signing Mighty Jets teenage sensation Emmanuel Ukeyima when he attains the age of majority.
Malaga have extensively scouted the attacking midfielder in Nigeria and he would have traveled to Spain this month for further assessment if not for the WASSCE 2024 examinations.
Aged sixteen, Ukeyima is one of the youngest first teamers plying his trade in both the Nigeria Premier Football League and Nigeria National League.
Given that he is a minor and cannot join a foreign club until he's 18 years,Malaga face serious competition for the precocious talent with top Nigerian clubs also interested in landing his signature after watching him at close quarters.
Clubs based in the northern part of Nigeria such as Plateau United, Nasarawa United, El-Kanemi Warriors and Wikki Tourists are battling for his signature.
In a chat with allnigeriasoccer.com, the General Manager of Mighty Jets, Ferdinand Mbum, drew comparisons between Ukeyima Emmanuel and Lamine Yamal, highlighting similarities in their age and potential, and confidently stated that Emmanuel is on par with the Barcelona wonderkid.
Ukeyima has won three Man of the Match awards in this season's NNL, against NAF Rockets F.C, Abubakar Bukola Saraki FC and Wikki Tourists.
The highly talented Ukeyima has been described as a midfielder with outstanding vision, can make short and long passes with ease, and does not shy away from a tackle despite his diminutive nature.
