Southampton-owned striker Paul Onuachu makes decision about his future with Trabzonspor
Published: May 17, 2024Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu is reportedly made a decision about his future with Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor.
According to Turkish sports daily Fanatik, the Southampton loanee doesn't want to sign a permanent deal with the Black Sea Storm because his salary is being paid late and his agent's fee wasn't paid on time.
Despite not being interested in staying at Trabzonspor, the 29-year-old wants to join a club in the Turkish Süper Lig with an Istanbul-based side being his most preferred destination.
With Trabzonspor on the verge of finishing in a European spot, they are interested in retaining the services of the lanky striker who has played a vital role for them this term.
Besides the player not being interested in staying, the Turkish side are also faced with the difficulty of meeting his €15m valuation as they can offer just €10m for his signing at the moment.
Newly promoted Göztepe are ready to rival Trabzonpor for the former Genk forward, as they aim to retain their topflight status next season.
Onuachu is back to his goalscoring best after an abysmal time in England with Southampton and it is easy to see why he wants to stay in Turkey.
The Nigeria international is Trabzonspor's top scorer this season in the Süper Lig with 14 goals notched in 20 games and has also assisted his teammates on four occasions.
