Championship new boys Derby County hand trial to Chelsea youth product Adegoke
Published: May 25, 2024Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Championship new boys Derby County have handed a trial to talented Nigerian goalkeeper Prince Adegoke with a view to a transfer.
The 2019 Nigeria U17 invitee is on the lookout for a new employer following his release by Charlton Athletic.
Adegoke is one of five Nigerian youngsters released by the Addicks, alongside Jason Adigun, Tolu Ladapo, Chibike Okechukwu, and Harmony Okwumo.
The goalkeeper has been invited to take part in a showcase game scheduled to hold at Derby County Training Ground in Oakwood on Wednesday, May 29.
Although he is departing Charlton without making his senior debut, he regularly trained with their first team and was an unused substitute in an EFL Tropy clash against Sutton United last November.
Adegoke joined Charlton Athletic in August 2023 following his release by Chelsea, where he spent eight years.
His strengths as a goalkeeper are ability to make match-winning saves, physical presence, composure and calmness in possession.
The goalkeeper clinched the U18 Premier League Cup with Chelsea in 2022 and trained with the first team goalkeepers during his time at Stamford Bridge.
