Promotion match: Family Worship Champions Football Club rally Jos fans for support
Published: June 05, 2024Family Worship Champions Football Club (FWC FC) is just one win away from moving up to the Nigeria National League (NNL).
After successfully coming through the last round, where they won by default due to Capital City's failure to show up for their game in Akure, FWC FC of Abuja is back in training, getting ready for the all-important promotion match against Basira FC of Nasarawa state.
This crucial game is set for June 9th at the Jos Township Stadium with kickoff at 10 am.
With 8 wins and 2 draws in their last 10 matches, FWC FC are unbeaten and has shown strong and steady performance throughout the season.
Head coach Bunmi Haruna says they are aware that the fans are expectant ahead of their visit to Jos.
"It is very significant that this match will be played in Jos because this city has produced some of the most prominent Nigerian players in recent times.
"Mikel Obi, Ahmed Musa, Moses Simon, Obinna Nsofor, Saviour Godwin, Benedict Akwuegbu, and Ogenyi Onazi, to name just a few.
"So, it is no surprise we have at least 5 Jos boys in our team. We know what is at stake, and we will give it our all.
"We call on our fans in Jos to come out en mass to back the team. We have come this far; we can't afford to drop the standard; all we want is a win."
All attention will be on Jos Township Stadium on June 9th as FWC FC hope to finish their amazing journey with a win that will secure promotion to the NNL.
