Eintracht Frankfurt looking at loaning out talented defender Collins

German Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt are looking at loaning out promising central defender Nnamdi Collins.

The Germany U20 international of Nigerian descent departed Borussia Dortmund for Eintracht Frankfurt last summer, and has struggled to break into the first team of the Eagles on a full-time basis.

Last season, Collins made his full Bundesliga debut against Werder Bremen on April 5, before featuring off the bench in the next matchday against VfB Stuttgart.

Fussballtransfers is reporting that Collins will have to continue his development elsewhere in the upcoming season as Eintracht Frankfurt are searching for a loan club for the versatile defender who can be deployed as a central defender or fullback.

Overall, he received five call-ups for first team games in his first season at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Collins played primarily for Eintracht Frankfurt's reserve team in the Regionalliga Südwest - the fourth tier of German football - making sixteen starts in the division.

Eintracht Frankfurt are now exploring loan options for Collins to ensure he gets more playing time on the pitch at a higher level.

Born in Düsseldorf in 2004, Collins began his career with Fortuna Düsseldorf before joining Borussia Dortmund, where he progressed through the club's youth team ranks to make his senior debut for the reserve team in the 3.Liga.
