Confirmed: Swindon's Players' Player of the Season Godwin-Malife joins Burton Albion
Published: June 25, 2024Through a statement on their official website, EFL League One side Burton Albion have announced the signing of Oxford-born Nigerian central defender Udoka Godwin-Malife for an undisclosed fee,
The 24-year-old has signed a three-year deal that will keep him at the Pirelli Stadium until the end of the 2026-2027 season,
Godwin-Malife has moved onto pastures new after playing in 42 league games for Swindon Town, during which he registered one goal and provided three assists.
His performances earned him the Players’ Player of the Season and Supporters Club Player of the Season for the 2023-2024 campaign.
He started his career with Oxford City, followed by stints with Oxford City Nomads, Forest Green Rovers and Eastleigh.
Overall, Godwin-Malife has appeared in 154 matches in the Football League and has six goal involvements.
Bendik Hareide, Sporting Director of the Brewers, has described Udoka as an exceptional central defender, who is quick and has impressive abilities both in defence and build-up play.
Burton Albion will be aiming to maintain their League One status in the forthcoming campaign after finishing 20th last season in the division.
