Besiktas ready to offer Nigerian striker who models his game after Amokachi N1.6b wages p.a.

Turkish Super Lig giants Besiktas are working on a deal to sign Yverdon-Sport's Spanish-born Nigerian striker Kevin Carlos.

The former SD Huesca youngster has put himself in the shop window after an impressive campaign in 2023-2024, where he netted 14 goals in 35 Super League matches to clinch the top scorer award, which he shared with Chadrac Akolo (St Gallen) and Zan Celar (Lugano).

According to Turkish sports daily Fanatik, Besiktas are in talks with the dual-national player and his intermediary over a transfer and intend to offer the forward wages of one million euros per annum (approximately N1.6 billion) to convince him to join the club.

It has been suggested that Carlos wishes to continue his career with Besiktas despite interest from Swiss Super League teams.

Besides Besiktas, the 23-year-old is also on the wishlist of Servette FC and champions BSC Young Boys.

Besiktas still want to sign another forward this summer after the arrival of former Benfica star Rafa Silva.

Carlos' role model Daniel Amokachi, a retired Nigeria international, was on the books of Besiktas for three years during his playing days, helping them win the Turkish Cup in 1997-1998.

"I have always played as a striker and I model my game after Daniel Amokachi," Carlos told allnigeriasoccer.com in 2020.

Carlos joined Yverdon-Sport on loan last summer before signing a permanent contract in January 2024.
