AC Milan ready to start negotiations over signing of Chelsea's Super Eagles-eligible midfielder
Published: July 08, 2024According to CaughtOffside, AC Milan are ready to open talks with Chelsea over the possibility of signing Super Eagles-eligible midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka.
The Italian giants want to improve their midfield with the signing of the England youth international who has struggled with game time and injuries since moving to Stamford Bridge in 2022.
The Rossoneri are said to be interested in a loan move for the Aston Villa academy product but Chelsea would rather let him leave permanently with interested club expected to pay his £40m release clause.
The Italian giants are now said to be ready to negotiate a buy option between £20-25m for the England youth international with the Blues not ready to let him leave on loan.
Chukwuemeka is said to be happy at West London but with the arrival of Enzo Maresca and the signature of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall who had previously worked with the Italian coach at Leicester City, he could change his decision.
This isn't the first time AC Milan will be attempting to get a struggling player from Stamford Bridge with Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Fikayo Tomori and Christian Pulisic all leaving West London for the San Siro.
It remains to be seen whether Chukwuemeka will also follow the footsteps of the aforementioned players.
