Caleb Okoli trying to convince N60b-rated Juventus forward to join him at Leicester City
Published: July 12, 2024Leicester City new boy Caleb Okoli is reportedly trying to convince Juventus forward Matias Soulè to join him at the King Power Stadium ahead of the forthcoming season.
Okoli completed his move to the Foxes this week, signing a five-year contract which ended his nine-year association with Atalanta.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, after acquiring Okoli, Leicester City have set their sights on signing another player from the Italian Serie A in the shape of Matias Soulè, who is not in the plans of manager Thiago Motta for the forthcoming campaign.
Sporting director of Juventus Cristiano Giuntoli is aiming to strike a deal with an interested club for a fee of 35 million euros (approximately N60 billion in Nigerian currency), ten million euros more than Leicester City are willing to pay for the Argentina U23 international.
As per the report, Leicester City are working, through Okoli, to convince Soulè to accept joining the newly promoted Premier League team amid interest from other clubs.
West Ham United, Bayer Leverkusen and AS Roma have been credited with an interest in the Argentina youth teamer.
Okoli and Soulè were teammates at Frosinone last season, playing on loan from Atalanta and Juventus respectively.
While the central defender appeared in 37 matches, Soulè tallied eleven goals in 39 games across all competitions.
If signed by Leicester City, Soulè is available for pre-season training after he was omitted from Argentina's 22-man squad for the 2024 Olympic Games in France.
