Confirmed: Dynamo Kyiv loan out Ivory Coast-born former Nigeria U23 international
Published: August 01, 2024Through official channels, Ukrainian Premier League club FC Zorya Luhansk have announced the signing of Ivory Coast-born former Nigeria U23 international Olabiran Muyiwa, otherwise known as Benito.
The Dynamo Kyiv-owned winger will spend the entirety of the 2024-2025 season on loan at FC Zorya Luhansk.
Benito has struggled for game time since transferring to Dynamo Kyiv in January 2020, making only sixteen starts for the Blue and Whites in four and a half years.
In search of regular game time, he spent time on loan at Olimpik Donetsk and HNK Gorica in back-to-back seasons before returning to Dynamo Kyiv for the 2023-2024 season, where he appeared in twenty three games.
Benito was born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast to Nigerian parents, making him eligible to play for two West African powerhouses but became provisionally cap-tied to the Anglophone nation after featuring in the 2019 U23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The 25-year-old signed a new deal with the Dynamo Kyiv last summer, keeping him at the capital club until June 2026.
He scored his first goal in Dynamo Kyiv's colours in the away game against FC Vorskla Poltava on May 4, 2023 and has totaled six goal involvements in all competitions.
The dual-national player represented Saxan Gagauz Yeri, Lokomotiv Tashkent, Luch Minsk and Tambov before joining Dynamo Kyiv.
