'It would be a dream to represent Nigeria' - Scottish-born forward keen on representing African powerhouse

Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Scottish-born forward of Nigerian descent Praise Adebo, is open to representing the nine-time African champions at international level.

Born January 7, 2003 to Nigerian parents in Scotland, she plies her trade for Scottish Women's League One side Stenhousemuir FC.

The 21-year-old began her career at playing for a community football team named United Glasgow, where she featured a few months for the club before joining West Park United in 2022.

After a short stint at West Park, she featured for her college football team at Strathclyde University, spending a season and a half between January 2023 and May 2024.

She then proceeded to her current club in what she described as ‘beginning her competitive career’, and has since made 30 appearances, registering 15 goals along the way.

By virtue of being born to Nigerian parents, she is eligible to represent Nigeria internationally.

She is also uncapped by Scotland at any level, which means that she doesn't require a nationality switch to don Nigeria's Green and White Jersey.

The towering attacker acknowledged that it would be a dream come true to receive an international call-up from Nigeria, acknowledging the immense amount of talent and expertise the country boasts in that position.

“It would be a dream to represent Nigeria internationally,” she boldly affirmed.

Speaking of strike force, it is without a doubt that Nigeria boasts some of the best strikers on the continent currently led by six-time CAF Women's Player of the year Asisat Oshoala.

However, it could be said that the Bay FC forward who began her career as an attacking midfielder and later transitioned into a supporting striker, found herself in that department due to veteran striker Desire Oparanozie's sudden retirement from football after the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Her departure created a noticeable void which was difficult to fill due to her reputation for the Super Falcons.

One could say the department witnessed some imbalances and a revolution which brought about the likes of Ifeoma Onumonu and Chinwendu Ihezuo, all at the same time.

Notably, one thing is common amongst them all, age. Onumonu who recently joined Montpellier HSC, has hit her thirties, Oshoala is at the brink of the three-decade mark.

Ihezuo on the other hand is certainly set to take over the mantle, but the question of her deputy will continue to ring bells for the team's handlers.

With Adebo's numbers, she would be a fantastic prodigy, long term addition and squad player for the national team, if approached by the Nigerian Football Federation.
