Huddersfield Town midfielder Kasumu named in League One Team of the Week
Published: October 07, 2024Football statistics website Whoscored.com has put together its Team of the Week in the League One for the final round of matches played before the international break, with a Nigerian player making the cut.
Huddersfield Town midfielder David Kasumu has been recognized for his brilliant display against Barnsley at John Smith's Stadium on Saturday, October 5.
The Terriers dug deep to secure the three points, breaking the deadlock through Ben Wiles before Kasumu doubled the advantage in injury time.
Six minutes into stoppage time, a poor defensive header dropped to Kasumu and he drilled the ball past the goalkeeper's right side from long range to open his account for the 2024-2025 season.
The 25-year-old registered a game-high two shots on target with one ending up in the back of the net and was the highest rated player in the matchday 10 fixture.
Kasumu won three aerial duels, registered 52 touches, one dribble and was the most fouled player having won three fouls for the Terriers.
He registered two tackles, two clearances and one interception, was accurate in 71 percent of his passes, and gave away a foul.
His performance against the Reds landed him a Whoscored rating of 8.32.
Kasumu has started the last three matches played by Hudderfield Town in the third tier of English football, having missed the previous four due to an ankle injury.
