'Proper baller' - Osimhen lauds Galatasaray teammate Gabriel Sara after providing free-kick assist

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has heaped praise on teammate Gabriel Sara, crediting the midfielder's exceptional vision and skill for his decisive goal in Monday's 2-1 Istanbul Derby win over Besiktas.

The Nigerian international's 67th-minute header, expertly assisted by Sara's pinpoint free-kick delivery, sealed Galatasaray's victory and maintained their grip on top spot in the Turkish Super Lig. 

The 2015 Fifa U-17 World Cup winner's fourth goal of the season marked his third consecutive league game with a strike, following his stunning overhead kick against Antalyaspor last weekend.

Reacting to the win on Instagram, Sara posted a celebratory message, prompting Osimhen to respond with admiration, labeling Sara a ‘proper baller’ in the comment section.

Sara's assist was a testament to his creative prowess, finding Osimhen in the box with precision. 

The 25-year-old striker's clinical finish doubled Galatasaray's lead before Besiktas pulled a goal back in stoppage time.

Galatasaray's hard-fought win solidified their position at the summit of the Turkish Super Lig standings with 28 points from 10 matches, establishing a six-point cushion ahead of second-placed Samsunspor, while Besiktas remains fourth with 20 points.

The reigning African Foootballer of the year's impressive scoring run has vindicated his high-profile loan move from Napoli, with Chelsea reportedly monitoring his progress ahead of a potential move in 2025. 

Having registered four goals and four assists in a Galatasaray shirt, Osimhen continues to justify the hype surrounding his transfer.
