36 goals in 24 games: Man Utd U18 striker Obi-Martin still scoring for fun after leaving Arsenal

Chido Obi-Martin continued his impressive start to life at Manchester United as he netted in the 3-0 win over Everton in an u18 Premier League match at Carrington Training Centre on Saturday afternoon.

The Danish-born Nigerian center forward joined the Red Devils on a scholarship contract in the summer transfer window after turning down a new deal at Arsenal.

Obi-Martin has now recorded four goals in four games for Manchester United and has taken his tally to 36 goals in 24 games in the U18 Premier League.

Manchester United opened the scoring in the sixth minute after an exchange of passes between Jack Armer and Godwill Kukonki; the latter fed James Scanlon, who set up Obi-Martin, and the striker did what he is best at, slotting the ball home with aplomb.

The 16-year-old was set up for a second in the 23rd minute when Jim Thwaites curled the ball into the box but he couldn't produce a precise finish from his header.

Four minutes after the start of the second half, the precocious striker failed to convert Thwaites’ pass, heading the ball off target.

Thwaites’ then took matters into his own hands, curling a fantastic free-kick into the top corner to get Manchester United's second of the afternoon.

A few moments later, Everton goalkeeper Douglas Lukjanciks pulled up a massive save to deny Obi-Martin from extending the lead, after which he was replaced by Tyler Fletcher.

Bendito Mantato wrapped the scoring in the stoppage time as Manchester United made it nine wins out of nine, cementing their top spot in the standings, seven points ahead of second-place Manchester City.
