Best Men's Player: Lookman battles Messi, Ronaldo, Arsenal and Chelsea stars for Globe Soccer Awards

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has been nominated for the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards following his brilliant form for club and country over the year.
The Atalanta star has been nominated alongside Arsenal's Bukayo Saka and William Saliba, with Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah and Chelsea ace Cole Palmer for the Best Men's Player category.
Inter Miami's Argentina superstar Lionel Messi and Al Nassr's Portugal great Cristiano Ronaldo are also in the running for the yearly accolade.
Lookman inspired Atalanta to their first UEFA Europa League title, scoring a hat-trick as the Italian Serie A side beat Bayer Leverkusen to the trophy at the Aviva Stadium in May.
The 27-year-old has been the most in-form forward in the Italian Serie A this year, recording 17 goals and 11 assists, which is the most goal involvement by any player in the Italian top flight.
Besides his club form, the former Everton forward has equally been impressive for the national team, having scored six goals this year, including three at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations to propel the Super Eagles to the final of the tournament.
He has two goals in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, which is the most of any player in the Nigerian squad.
Lookman was nominated for the Ballon d'Or and finished 14th at the end of the voting process and is also in the running for the African Men's Footballer of the Year award.
Besides the Atalanta forward, Saka, Saliba Palmer and Salah, Manchester City's Erling Haaland, Rodrigo and Phil Foden, Emiliano Martínez, Barcelona's Lamine Yamal and Dani Olmo as well as Viktor Gyökeres, Artem Dovbyk also made the list for the Globe Soccer Best Men's Player award.
Other nominees are Nicolò Barella,Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Kylian Mbappé, Jude Bellingham, Dani Carvajal, Rodrygo, Federico Valverde, Vinícius Júnior, Florian Wirtz, Granit Xhaka, Alejandro Grimaldo,Nico Williams, Vitinha, Harry Kane, Toni Kroos, Robert Lewandowski, Lautaro Martínez and Antoine Griezmann.
