Allnigeriasoccer.com runs the rule over the Super Eagles players in action

The starters

Goalkeeper

Maduka Okoye: The former Watford shot-stopper had nothing to do for most of the game until the Wasps scored. He could do nothing to prevent the first but should have done better for the second. 4/10

Defenders

Bright Osayi-Samuel: The Fenerbahçe fullback was not at his best and and didn't offer much offensively.5/10

William Troost-Ekong: He showed lack of leadership with the two goals conceded coming from defensive blunders 4.5/10.

Gabriel Osho:  He passed comfortably from the defence but should have done better to prevent Nshuti's goal. 5.5/10

Bruno Onyemaechi: He made two vital blocks in the first half to prevent Rwanda from creating a goalscoring opportunity. 6/10

Midfielders

Raphael Onyedika: He was always a passing outlet to move the ball from the defence to the midfield, keen to pick out a teammate with his passes and performed his defensive duty well. 6.5/10

Alhassan Yusuf:  He worked his socks off and was taken off at half-time. The MLSer won a team-high eight ground duels despite playing only the first half. 7/10

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru: He made a good run to thwart a Rwanda player from going through on goal late in the first half but offered no threat offensively. 5.5/10

Forwards

Kelechi Iheanacho: He lost the ball carelessly towards the end of the first half, which could have proved costly and got Nigeria's first shot on target. He was brought off at the start of the second half.4.5/10

Victor Boniface: He missed from close range to give the Super Eagles the lead in the second half and missed another to double the lead. Another forgettable outing for the Bayer Leverkusen forward. 4.5/10

Moses Simon: He created two good chances in the first half and the one leading to the Super Eagles' first shot on target. He was Nigeria's best creative outlet before the introduction of Chukwueze. 5.5/10

The substitutes

Samuel Chukwueze: Showed confidence the way he took his goal. He quickly changed the attack when he came on and produced a moment of brilliance to grab his sixth international goal. 8/10

Frank Onyeka: He came on at the start of the second half and made the wrong decision when presented with an opportunity to create a goalscoring opportunity. 5.5/10

Victor Osimhen: He came on in the closing stages of the gale, worked his socks off, and created an opportunity for Boniface which he fluffed. 6/10

Umar Sadiq: The Real Sociedad came on very late in the game to be assessed. N/A
