'We are not scared' - Fulham ace Iwobi warns Liverpool ahead of Anfield clash
Published: December 13, 2024
Alex Iwobi has declared Fulham's readiness to face Liverpool in the Premier League fixture that will take place at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
The Cottagers have been brilliant this season. They have garnered 23 points from 15 games and are four points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester City.
Iwobi has played a key role in their brilliant start to the season. He has started all league games this season, registering five goals and three assists.
The eight-goal involvements he has is the most he has registered after 15 games in the Premier League since making his debut in the competition in the 2015/2016 season.
Fulham forced Arsenal to a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage last weekend and will be seeking to get a positive result against Liverpool tomorrow.
Speaking ahead of the game, Iwobi has declared that the Cottagers are ready to face the table-toppers, with the result of the game likely to affect the title race.
"It shows we have the ability to compete with anyone. We are not scared. Hopefully it will be the same against Liverpool.
"We are going there to get a result," Iwobi told the Daily Mail.
The Nigerian midfielder has featured against Liverpool on 14 occasions. He has yet to score a goal against them, but he has four assists.
However, he has not recorded a goal contribution against the Reds since the 2018/2019 season, when he provided an assist for Arsenal in their 5-1 defeat to the Anfield side.
