'He can play' - Galatasaray insider makes big claim on Osimhen's return date
Published: December 14, 2024Galatasaray insider Burhan Can Terzi has made a big claim on Victor Osimhen's return date from injury.
The Nigerian striker got injured during Galatasaray's 3-2 win over Sivasspor in the Trendyol Süper Lig fixture played last weekend.
He was replaced by Victor Nelson, with 16 minutes of the normal time left to be played.
He missed the UEFA Europa League clash with Malmo at the Eleda Stadium on Thursday. Mitchy Batsuayi led the attack for the Lion in the game.
Batshuayi failed to impress as he could not register a goal in the clash, with Galatasaray settling for a 2-2 draw with the Swedish side.
The former Chelsea striker was criticized for his performance and Okan Buruk would be hoping that Osimhen can recover from injury as soon as possible.
Speaking about the fitness status of the Nigerian striker in an interview, Terzi claimed that he could play on Monday when Galatasaray face Trabzonspor in a Süper Lig game at RAMS PARK.
In quotes relayed by haber sari kirmizi, he said: "Osimhen can play if he forces him. It may not be He can play.risked. He can play. The player and the technical staff will decide. Jakobs and Kaan Ayhan can also play. I expect these two names to get playing time in Trabzonspor."
Buruk needs the 2015 Fifa U17 Golden Boot winner back to full fitness as he does not have much reliance on Batshuayi, the only fit striker at the moment.
Mauro Icardi is nursing an injury that may keep him on the sidelines until the end of the season.
Osimhen is being relied upon to help Galatasaray help their season's objectives.
