Mauro Icardi injury: Galatasaray target 2022 World Cup winner as Osimhen's strike partner
Published: December 17, 2024Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray are showing genuine interest in 2022 World Cup-winning striker with Argentina, Paulo Dybala ahead of the reopening of the transfer window in the coming weeks.
The Lions are looking to strengthen their attacking options following the season-ending injury suffered by Mauro Icardi, as well as ease the goalscoring burden on Victor Osimhen.
According to multiple reports from Turkish media, including habersarikirmizi.com, Dybala is keen on a move to Galatasaray and would partner Osimhen in attack if the deal goes through.
Dybala's agent was among the spectators on Monday evening as Galatasaray continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 4-3 victory over Trabzonspor.
Galatasaray have been negotiating with the Argentina international for over two months and are confident of getting the deal over the line.
The Istanbul club are ready to pay eight million euros in wages to Dybala and are prepared to meet Roma's asking price for the 31-year-old.
Osimhen made a swift return from injury to be included in Galatasaray's gameday squad against Trabzonspor and came off the bench for the final fifteen minutes.
The Napoli loanee has been in remarkable form since landing in Turkey with fifteen goal involvements (10 goals, 5 assists) in fourteen outings across all competitions.
