Want-away Super Eagles striker offered to La Liga trio Sevilla, Getafe and Valencia
Published: December 25, 2024Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq has reportedly informed Real Sociedad that he intends to move on in the January transfer window.
According to AS, his agent has offered him to Sevilla, Getafe, and Valencia in a bid to make Sadiq leave La Real as he has struggled to get game time this season.
Sevilla showed interest in the Kaduna-born striker last summer, but he was uninterested in joining the UEFA Europa League record winners.
They eventually grabbed his international teammate Kelechi Iheanacho, but the Manchester City academy product has not hit the ground running, and the club could still be interested in signing a new striker.
He also rejected the chance to join Getafe as Real Sociedad intended to use him in a swap deal for Borja Mayoral but the deal collapsed.
Getafe could reignite thier interest in Sadiq as they've had difficulty finding the back of the net, scoring just 11 goals in 18 games, putting them at risk of relegation..
Real Sociedad are not averted to letting Sadiq leave as it has not been a fruitful relationship between them and they are ready to let him leave on loan.
The 27-year-old joined the two-time Spanish champions in 2022 and has made 50 appearances across all competitions, registering four goals and two assists.
He has been limited to just two starts in the Spanish La Liga this season, and it would be surprising if he does not leave La Real next month.
