'First goal with left foot' - Slavia coach highlights Super Eagles invitee Igoh Ogbu's latest milestone

Speaking to reporters at the post-match conference on Sunday, Slavia Prague coach Jindrich Trpisovsky praised Super Eagles invitee Igoh Ogbu for scoring the first-ever left-footed goal in his professional career.

The former Nigeria U20 international will report for international duty in Kigali full of confidence after netting his second of the season as Slavia Prague thrashed FK Jablonec 3-0 at the Fortuna Arena.

Ogbu intercepted a pass from the FK Jablonec keeper in the ninth minute, kept his cool and slotted the ball home with his left foot.

Slavia boss Jindřich Trpisovsky was spot on in rightly pointing out that it was a rare left-footed goal by the Super Eagles hopeful.

Of Ogbu’s ten career goals before the Jablonec clash, nine were headers, with his only right-footed finish coming in April 2022 for Lillestrøm against FK Jerv.

Known for marking the opposition’s best attackers and excelling in duels, the central defender has recently displayed even greater composure and confidence on the pitch, scoring two goals in his past three games.

Trpisovsky highlighted Ogbu's latest milestone—his first career goal with his left foot—describing his execution as perfectly timed.

"Igoh usually defends the opponent's best player and can be dominant in duels," he was quoted as saying by the official website of Slavia Prague.

"He has calmed down recently, feels good and I think it was his first goal with his left foot in his career. ”

The Slavia coach emphasized that Ogbu is developing into a complete player and believes he is undervalued by transfer market experts.

"He timed the whole situation perfectly and solved it perfectly. He is extremely important for us and his performances definitely exceed his current price tag.

"If he played in a foreign league, his value would be much higher. He has become a complete player," Trpisovsky concluded.
