Nigeria camp update: 21 players in Kigali pre-Rwanda; Chelle still waiting to welcome Sadiq, Yusuf

Super Eagles camp in Kigali is almost at full capacity with the arrival of twenty-one players, leaving only Sadiq Umar and Alhassan Yusuf as the invitees Nigeria manager Eric Chelle is still waiting to welcome.
The camp officially opened on Sunday night with the arrival of team staff, the technical crew, and six players, including forwards Victor Osimhen and Tolu Arokodare, midfielder Papa Daniel, defender Bruno Onyemaechi, and goalkeepers Kayode Bankole and Amas Obasogie.
On Monday, the players engaged in their first training session, focusing on gym work to build fitness. A video circulating online showed the squad being put through their paces by the technical crew.
However, by Monday night, the number of players in camp had increased significantly as several players arrived.
Allnigeriasoccer.com had earlier reported that eight players, including Victor Boniface, Samuel Chukwueze, and Igoh Ogbu were expected to join the squad that night.
As of Tuesday morning, the number of players in camp have increased significantly with the arrival of Wilfred Ndidi, Joe Aribo, Ademola Lookman, Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, and Ola Aina, bringing the tally to 21.
Nigeria, currently fifth in Group C with three points, must secure a win against group leaders Rwanda to strengthen their chances of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Head coach Eric Chelle will be hoping for a strong performance from his team at the Amahoro Stadium on Friday.
