Suspected calf injury: Fulham wait on scan to determine Chukwueze's availability for Arsenal clash

Fulham coach Marco Silva is sweating over the fitness of Samuel Chukwueze ahead of his side's Premier League meeting with table toppers Arsenal, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

The Nigeria international picked up an injury during the first half of the Super Eagles' 4–0 win over Benin's Cheetahs on Tuesday, which led to his substitution at half-time.

Upon returning to London, Chukwueze was seen undergoing a recovery session in the gym on Thursday, suggesting the injury may not be as serious as initially feared.

Silva confirmed that the forward will undergo a scan to determine his availability for the London derby at Craven Cottage tomorrow evening.

A deadline-day signing from AC Milan, Chukwueze has yet to make his starting debut for Fulham, but his impressive performances off the bench have put him close to earning a starting spot.

Fulham are facing a challenging period ahead of their upcoming matches, with several key players confirmed to be sidelined.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday afternoon, Silva confirmed that Antonee Robinson, Sasa Lukic, and Muniz would be out, while Chukwueze was rated as doubtful.

Regarding Chukwueze, the Portuguese tactician revealed that the AC Milan loanee had come off at half-time during Nigeria's last game and had undergone a scan to assess a calf issue.

He explained that Chukwueze had felt something in his calf but that it did not appear to be serious.

Nigeria manager Eric Chelle will certainly be monitoring the situation of Chukwueze as he is expected to finalize his squad within the next two weeks for November's World Cup playoffs.
