Highest-voted nominee to miss out on FIFPRO world 11: Chelsea RB selected ahead of Alozie

Houston Dash's Nigeria international Michelle Alozie has narrowly missed out on a place in the 2025 FIFPRO Women's World 11.
The Super Falcons star was one of three African players initially shortlisted among the 26 nominees, alongside Morocco captain Ghizlane Chebbak and Zambia striker Barbra Banda.
Alozie was the only African who did not make the final eleven, a tough outcome given she was competing against Lucy Bronze, widely regarded as one of the world's best right-backs.
Bronze and her Chelsea teammates, centre-back Millie Bright and goalkeeper Hannah Hampton, were all named in the final FIFPRO Women’s World XI for 2025.
More than 26,000 professional footballers from 68 countries participated in the voting process for this year's selection.
Despite missing out, Alozie received the highest number of votes among players who were not selected for the final team.
The versatile defender has been a key figure for Nigeria and featured in both matches as the Super Falcons secured their 16th consecutive qualification for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The FIFPRO Women's World XI recognises the top eleven women’s players globally, with performances assessed between 11 August 2024 and 3 August 2025.
To qualify, players must have featured in at least 20 official matches within that period.
