Malawi Sports Minister Calls For Total Support
Published: June 09, 2012Enoch Chihana, Malawi Minister of Sports, has called on the Flames supporters to rally behind the team in this afternoon's crucial World Cup qualifier against Nigeria.
''I am urging all Malawians to go the Kamuzu Stadium and support our team. As we all know, our team was in Kenya where they drew against Kenya which is not a bad result at all, and we expect them to do much better this Saturday against Nigeria,'' Chihana was quoted as saying by nyasatimes.com.
The last time Nigeria met Malawi in a competitive away match was nine years ago. Then, the Eagles were superior with a 1-0 scoreline. John Utaka grabbed the only goal of the game.
