JOHN IBEH Bags Brace For Pandurii In League Opener
Published: July 20, 2012
The 2012 - 2013 Romanian season started on Friday with Pandurii Târgu Jiu hosting Universitatea Cluj at the Stadionul Municipal Tudor Vladimirescu.
Nigerian midfielder John Ibeh underlined his prowess in front of goal by netting an early brace in the 6-2 hammering of Universitatea Cluj.
Ibeh, who played in the Champions League last season with Oţelul Galaţi scored his first after 12 minutes, then added a second 13 minutes later.
''I am delighted with these two goals, but it's more important the team won the game. Who says we can not win the championship at the end of the season if we give it a go? Today's victory will bring a lot of confidence to the squad. I think I can score 10 goals before the league goes on winter break,'' Ibeh told allnigeriasoccer.com in a telephone conversation.
Ibeh has scored four goals in his last four matches in the Romanian championship, an impressive statistic for a midfielder.
