PRINCE IKPE EKONG Hints At Retirement
Published: November 03, 2012
Former Nigeria international Prince Ikpe Ekong, 34, has sensationally revealed to allnigeriasoccer.com that he might have played his last game for Swedish third - tier club Vasby United.
Following his release by Djurgården IF at the end of the 2012 campaign, Ekong signed a two - year contract with Vasby United in April. Now, it is unclear if he would be playing for the Stockholm based outfit when the league resumes in the next five months.
''I will continue with Vasby as their scout, and help them scout for players in Scandinavian countries. The decision on whether to call it a day with my professional career is not yet official. I am still under contract with Vasby, and I hope to play my contract out. The management really want me to help them gain promotion to the Superettan,'' says Ekong to allnigeriasoccer.com.
Prince Ekong, who made 23 appearances (1 goal) last term, has had spells in Sweden, Italy, China, Slovenia, Romania, Mexico and Switzerland.
