CSKA Moscow Coach Backs Musa For Strike Role
Nigeria international Ahmed Musa will continue to lead CSKA Moscow's attack when the Russian Premier League resumes in March, supersport.com with reference to Russian media is reporting.

Following the injury to Ivorian star Seydou  Doumbia, coach of the Army Men Leonid Slutsky played Musa, who is primarily a winger, in the attack. And Musa, hailed as the golden boy of Nigerian football, did not disappoint the gaffer, scoring 8 goals in 18 matches.

''I want to give credit to all players and Musa in particular. The player justified when used as a striker. We gave him a tough role and he proved that he can fit in any role. It is no science why he is the second best player in the (Russian) championship with respect to (his) goals and assists, if we look at the stats.

''Though he has a lot of shortcomings, he can improve for sure as he is young and energetic. I think Musa can continue to play in that role even if we buy a striker this January,'' says Slutsky.

Ahmed Musa, 20, has been named in Nigeria's provisional African Cup of Nations squad.
