Ethiopia Line Up Tunisia Friendly
Published: January 05, 2013The Walia Antelopes of Ethiopia will head to Qatar for their second pre-AFCON friendly against Tunisia on Saturday evening. The game that will be played on Monday, January 7 in Doha is expected to provide a rough challenge for Ethiopia, one that can simulate what they would be facing when the tournament starts in South Africa.
Tunisia previously planned to play Egypt on Monday but after the Egyptian Football Federation decided to cancel the game for undisclosed reasons, they were forced to look for other opponents and Ethiopia fitted the bill.
When asked about the game, Coach Sewnet Bishaw was quoted as saying by ethiopianationalteam.blogspot.com: ''Tunisia is a big team; It is a team that regularly features in the African Cup of nations and also has a good football ranking from Africa. Playing with a team like Tunisia, we can determine what our capabilities and abilities are.''
This is expected to be the final friendly match for Ethiopia as all the other games planned have been cancelled due to different reasons. Tunisia, however, will play Ghana and Gabon in Abu Dhabi before heading to South Africa to take part in the tournament.
