Zambia Drop Second Choice Goalie Kalililo Kakonje?
Goalkeeper Kalililo Kakonje’s participation in the forth coming African Cup of Nation hangs in balance as speculation mounts about his available.

According to Zambianfootball.co.zm‘s Sibhuza ‘Sibs’ Mapate who watched the team’s Monday training session, the long serving second choice goalkeeper wasn’t part of the team and though it’s not clear whether he has been dropped.

“Kakonje was missing at training today. Could he have been dropped?” Sibs said

Though there no official communication from FAZ yet, there’s speculation that Herve Renard had lost patience with the 26 year old after he gifted Angola the first goal in the 2-0 defeat on Saturday.

Kakonje has been replaced by Red Arrows’ Danny Munyao.

Chipolopolo Boys Vice Captain Kampamba Chintu was spotted training alone on Monday. The veteran defender was the only player who didn’t feature against Angola.

“Chintu was training alone. If Chintu struggling with injury/fitness then Saulani Phiri might make the cut. Though I feel we need Chintu’s experience in case Hichani Himonde or Stopilla Sunzu is injured,” Sibs offered an insight of what could happen ahead of Wednesday’s deadline to submit the official 23 players.

Meanwhile, England based striker Emmanuel Mayuka has linked up with his international teammate in South Africa to complete the number of player in camp.

Mayuka arrived in the early hours of Monday, 24 hours after another striker Jacob Mulenga had joined.
