Russian Premier League club to announce the signing of Super Eagles striker
Sylvester Igboun's search for a new club is over, six weeks after he found himself unemployed by mutually terminating his contract with Russian top-flight club Dynamo Moscow.
According to our colleagues at championat.com, the Super Eagles striker has passed a medical examination at FC Nizhny Novgorod, paving the way for him to complete his move to the Russian Premier League side.
Nizhny Novgorod have offered Sly a contract for the remainder of the 2021-2022 season with the option of extension.
The Nigerian forward joined Dynamo in September 2019 and scored 4 goals in 53 games and this season, he made 12 appearances and notched one goal.
Prior to moving to Ufa in 2015, the FC Ebedei product was on the books of Danish side FC Midtjylland for nine years.
The 31-year-old is the second highest Nigerian scorer in the history of the Danish Superliga with 41 goals from 147 appearances for Midtjylland.
Igboun has six caps for the Super Eagles, with the last coming against Swaziland in a World Cup qualifier in November 2015.
