Seychelles Coach Gavin Jeanne Reveals He Scouted Super Eagles At The World Cup

Seychelles National Team coach, Gavin Jeanne, has revealed that he did some opposition scouting of the Super Eagles during the 2018 World Cup, but noted that the Pirates are a different side compared to the heavyweights that the three-time African champions faced in Russia.

Saturday's tie at the Stade Linité (Roche Caïman (Mahé) which corresponds to the second round of matches in Group E is one both teams cannot afford to lose, with Nigeria suffering a 2-0 defeat at the hands of South Africa and Seychelles thrashed 5-1 by Libya on match day one.

''We try to improve as much as possible. Everyone knows the Nigerian team, everyone from Africa, everyone in the world, we know them like we know them,''  Gavin Jeanne told BBC's Debola Adebanjo.

''I watched every possible game of the World Cup, I watched them also but this is not the World Cup, it is different. It's Seychelles.

''We are not Argentina, we are not Iceland so it's a completely different game.''

The Super Eagles, who will be without four key players in Alex Iwobi, William Troost-Ekong, Abdullahi Shehu and John Obi Mikel, have not participated in the Africa Cup of Nations since 2013.
