The Englishman who recently took over the reins of the club has earmarked the former Chelsea starlet and another seasoned Premier League campaigner in the ilk of Bournemouth's Jermaine Defoe for his side's attack as they bid to end the dominance of Celtic in the Scotland topflight next term.
It is expected that the 37-year old would be able to convince Jurgen Klopp to part with the youngster at least temporarily, given the number of established attacking options at his disposal and further aid the development of the player with regular first team football elsewhere.
Solanke was afforded just five starts in 21 appearances in the Premier League for Liverpool last term, his only goal coming on the final day against Brighton.
