Nigerian wonderkids Joel Asoro and Josh Maja stole the show as Sunderland kept their title hopes alive with a 2-0 win over Southampton in Premier League 2 on Friday at Staplewood Training Ground.<br /><br />After great build-up play, Sweden U21 international Asoro netted his second goal of the season in the 50th minute, and Maja added a second seven minutes later.<br /><br />He bundled home a rebound after goalkeeper Harry Lewis had saved the initial effort from the Black Cats number seven. <br /><br />With victory all but guaranteed, Asoro was replaced in the 72nd minute and Maja joined him on the bench with eight minutes remaining. <br /><br />Southampton striker Olufela Olomola was on the pitch for the entirety of the game, teammate Jonathan Afolabi was a non-playing substitute.<br /><br />Igho Kingsley <br /><br />Photo Credit : kinetic-foundation.org.uk<br />
