Allnigeriasoccer.com can report with certainty that Plymouth Argyle striker Owen Oseni is keen to represent the Super Eagles ahead of their international games at the end of the 2025-2026 season.
Born in Waterford, Oseni is eligible to represent the Super Eagles through his Nigerian father and the Elephants due to his Ivorian heritage, in addition to his country of birth, the Republic of Ireland.
Contact has been made with Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle regarding the possibility of handing Oseni his maiden call-up for the 2026 Unity Cup, which will feature the national teams of Nigeria, Jamaica, India, and Zimbabwe.
On the paperwork front, there are no obstacles as he holds a valid Nigerian passport and has not been capped at youth or senior level by either Ivory Coast or the Republic of Ireland.
The Football Association of Ireland won the recruitment battle for the likes of Adam Idah, Chiedozie Ogbene, Gavin Bazunu, Festy Ebosele and Andrew Omobamidele, but the Nigeria Football Federation have emerged as the frontrunners to secure Oseni's services.
Oseni is having an outstanding season at Plymouth Argyle, registering fifteen goal involvements in 32 all-competition appearances, including five in his last three League One appearances.
Those performances have not gone unnoticed, with the centre-forward attracting interest from top-flight clubs, including Celtic and Racing Genk, ahead of the summer transfer window.
A few EFL Championship clubs are also understood to be interested in signing Oseni at the end of the season.
Oseni is only 22 years and has been identified as a player with immense potential.
