Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told that Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle is keeping tabs on former Porto forward Abraham Marcus ahead of next month's Unity Cup.
The Malian tactician has announced plans to include new players of Nigerian descent, as well as former invitees who had limited playing opportunities, in his squad for the tournament at the Valley.
Despite departing Porto last summer, having made just one senior appearance, Marcus has remained active in the competitive Primeira Liga, where his performances have attracted Chelle's attention.
Since joining Estrela da Amadora, the former Remo Stars attacker has recorded ten goal involvements in 26 league appearances.
His standout display for the Tricolours came against Casa Pia, where he scored once and provided two assists.
Marcus has been absent from the international scene for approximately five years, having last featured in two friendlies against Cameroon's Indomitable Lions in June 2021.
Another forward on Chelle's radar ahead of the Unity Cup is Owen Oseni, who has scored ten goals and provided five assists for Plymouth Argyle this season.
Oseni holds a Nigerian passport but is also eligible to represent Ivory Coast and the Republic of Ireland.
