'We are going to Wembley' - Nnadozie celebrates Brighton's historic FA Cup final spot

Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has reacted with delight after Brighton & Hove Albion Women secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over Liverpool Women in the Women’s FA Cup semi-final, sealing a historic place at Wembley.

Nnadozie was part of a memorable night for Brighton & Hove Albion Women, who staged a late comeback to defeat Liverpool Women in a thrilling encounter filled with goals and momentum swings.

Liverpool took an early lead in the 11th minute through O’Sullivan, before Olsson doubled their advantage in the 22nd minute to put the hosts 2-0 ahead. 

Brighton responded almost immediately when Manuela Vanegas struck in the 23rd minute to reduce the deficit and bring the visitors back into the contest before half-time.

After the break, Brighton continued to push forward and found their equaliser in the 54th minute through Madison Haley., whose goal levelled the tie at 2-2 and shifted momentum firmly in Brighton’s favour. 

The match remained finely balanced as both sides searched for a winner in a tense closing stage.

Deep into stoppage time, Nadine Noordam delivered the decisive moment, scoring the winning goal to complete Brighton’s stunning comeback and send them through to the FA Cup final.

Following the victory, Nnadozie took to her official X account to celebrate the achievement and the team’s determination. She wrote: “We are going to Wembley. Straight into the FA Cup finals. Super proud of this team. I give God the glory”.

The result marks a historic milestone for Brighton Women, who reached the Women’s FA Cup final for the first time in the club’s history.
