New Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has handed a call-up to Sporting Charleroi central defender Valentine Ozornwafor for the national team's competitive matches in June and this is confirmed.
The official website of Sporting Charleroi has informed that Ozornwafor has been named on the Super Eagles roster for their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches with Sierra Leone and Mauritius.
And it's a well deserved call-up on the back of his outstanding performances for Sporting Charleroi in the recently concluded season.
Ozornwafor appeared in seventeen matches in the Belgian Pro League in 2021-2022, sixteen of which he started.
The Galatasaray-owned centre-back switched to Sporting Charleroi on a season-long loan last August with an option to buy included in the deal and it is all but confirmed that the clause will be triggered by The Zebras.
He has two appearances to date for the Super Eagles, both coming against Cameroon in friendlies that took place in Austria last summer.
