Super Eagles invitee Chidozie Awaziem was thinking about his deceased mother and aunt after netting in the Premier League International Cup final against Sunderland on Wednesday night.
In a 5-0 win, the Porto defender wrapped up the scoring nine minutes into the second half when he peeled away at the far post to place a header beyond Black Cats goalkeeper Max Stryjek.
Writing on Instagram, Awaziem said : ''DEDICATE THE GOAL AND THE CUP TO MY LOVELY MUM AND AUNT...I LOVE YOU BOTH â¤ï¸AND I KNOW YOU BOTH ARE HAPPY WHERE EVER YOU ARE...RIP😔ðŸ˜ðŸ˜I WISH YOU BOTH WERE HERE TO CELEBRATE WITH ME ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜LOVEâ¤ï¸''
Awaziem has scored three goals in domestic competitions across all levels for Porto since his debut.
The highly-rated youngster has been called up to a Nigeria get-together in Corsica later this month.
