Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has named his starting XI for Saturday evening’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinal showdown against Algeria's Desert Warriors.
As expected, Stanley Nwabali starts in goal, with the Chippa United goalkeeper aiming to register his sixth career clean sheet at the Africa Cup of Nations.
He is shielded by a back four of Bright Osayi-Samuel, Semi Ajayi, Calvin Bassey and Bruno Onyemaechi.
In midfield, Chelle has opted for a trio with Premier League experience led by captain Wilfred Ndidi alongside Alex Iwobi and Frank Onyeka.
Up front, Ademola Lookman and Akor Adams will provide support for Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, who leads the line.
Among the substitutes are Samuel Chukwueze, Chidera Ejuke, Moses Simon, Paul Onuachu, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Francis Uzoho, Igoh Ogbu and Raphael Onyedika.
Kick-off at the Marrakesh Stadium is scheduled for 17:00 hours, with the winner set to face hosts Morocco in the Afcon semifinal on Wednesday, January 14.
