Taiwo Awoniyi Brace Sends Nigeria To All Africa Games

The Nigeria Under 23s have qualified for the football event of the All Africa Games following their 2 - 1 win over their Zambian counterparts at the Heroes Stadium on Sunday afternoon. <br /><br />In the opening 15 minutes, both teams tried to size each other up.&nbsp; Mukuka Mulenga and Shadreck Malambo tried their luck from distance but it did not pose any problem to goalkeeper Daniel Emmanuel.<br /><br />On 34 minutes, the Dream Team took a precious lead after sustained pressure, thanks to Taiwo Awoniyi .<br /><br />Ronald Kampamba had a chance to level matters early in the second half but he fluffed his lines in front of goal, shooting wide from close range.<br /><br />Fifteen minutes from time, Friday Samu conjured up an equalizer after being set up by Shadreck Malambo.<br /><br />In the 86th minute, Taiwo Awoniyi extinguished the hopes of the Zambian fans by scoring his second goal in the colours of the Dream Team.<br /><br />Samson Siasia&rsquo;s side have followed in the footsteps of their female counterparts, the Super Falcons, by qualifying for the All Africa Games, which takes place in Congo - Brazzaville from&nbsp; September 4 - 19 .<br />
