Championship outfit Millwall are set to officially confirm that Nigeria-eligible center forward Abdul Abdulmalik has ended speculation over his future by putting pen to paper on a new deal.
London News Online has reported that Abdulmalik has signed a new one-year contract, with the option for a further twelve months.
The 18-year-old had been destined to leave the Lions having initially stalled on agreeing new terms with the club.
But the striker has performed a U-turn after trials with Premier League duo Watford and Southampton, and League One outfit Portsmouth.
Millwall bass Gary Rowett told London News Online : "It has been very well-documented that we wanted Abdul to stay in the first place.
"He’s a young player with a lot of ability and potential. For various reasons he had been advised to head out and try his hand somewhere else.
"He’s realised we are a really good next step for him. It’s important he now develops and puts everything into taking that next step."
Abdulmalik is expected to represent Millwall U23s in the Professional Development League for the remainder of the season.
